we like.... Luna on the Moon
okay, so I have a secret fetish. not many people know this about me, as it's not something I really ever do in public. but I have a 'thing' for headwear. headbands, hairclips, little fascinator type things, flower crowns. if I can stick it in my hair then I probably will. I don't tend to wear them out though (weird, I know!) as I get all self-conscious and am convinced everyone is pointing at me and laughing (possibly because often they are - pipecleaner crowns aren't exactly the norm around where I live!) but it was this obsession with headwear that led me many many months ago, to discover Luna on the Moon. I immediately followed her on twitter, instagram, and every other social media outlet I could find!
Luna on the Moon is run by the amazingly talented Kirsty - she creates THE kookiest and glitteriest colelction headpieces, hairclips, brooches, and now handbags, that I have ever seen. I literally want to own one of everything. that fox below is one of my personal faves. I mean, it's a fox, it's glittery, and you wear it on your head.
Kirsty has literally just launched a selection of bags, all in her signature style (ie. festooned with a buttload of glitter!) - I want this eye bag but jumbo-sized so I can fit ally my crap in it!
I was lucky enough to win Kirsty's Instagram giveaway a few weeks back - I received one of her glitter eye brooches and I haven't taken it off since it arrived! we also did a crafty swap - I sent her some Ladybird Likes pieces, and in exchange she created me a glittery ladybird that I can wear as a brooch OR as a hairclip (OHMYGOD it's incredible guys) plus a spiky silver glitter headband. if you're not already a fan of Kirsty's please go and follow her immediately - she is really going places! and tell her Zoe sent you xoxo

we like oh gosh cindy...
I love social networking sites (big surprise, I know!) and Instagram is probably my favourite of all of them. I'm super nosey, I love seeing photos of what people are doing and where they are. I also love it because I've found out about SO many lovely and talented people through Instagram, and one of them is Oh Gosh, Cindy.
her illustrations are absolutely perfect - and she picks the coolest subjects to draw. Ghost World, Game of Thrones, Grease, Clueless, The Addams Family, and Moonrise Kingdom, all in one place? my idea of heaven. the only problem is I want all of them. every single one. I think I'm going to start my collection off with the Clueless print though, because it's one of my all time favourite films!
are there any other awesome illustrators/makers I should check out? lately I've been really loving finding new people to follow - I have so little time to go and search for cool new shops on Etsy, so if anyone has recommendations then please do let me know!

we like Isobel Kho (and E.T.)
this is just a very quick post because I have literally just (via someone else's Instagram feed) discovered this incredible E.T. illustration by the oh so talented illustator Isobel Kho. the design is available as a print, or as a tote bag, or as a set of three stickers in Isobel's shop (which also has some other amazing designs, OBVS). I think I want/need them all in my life asap.
go check out this talented lady and you will not be disappointed! I'm going to introduce this 'we like...' as a weekly feature here on the blog to highlight some of the amazing crafty people/things I find during my time on the internet.

we like.... Miss Megan from Moonbeam Wishes
Miss Megan, from the wonderful blog and business Moonbeam Wishes, is possibly one of the nicest people I've met through blogging/selling online. She is so generous and genuine and thoughtful, and I feel very lucky to call her one of my friends. Be sure to check out her awesome blog, which is full of little snippets of her life and the wonderful things she makes. Here is a little interview with her....
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do.
My name is Megan and I love taking long walks, daisies, wearing dresses that I can twirl in, reading and daydreaming. I have a little Etsy shop, Dear Moonbeams, where I make + sell embroidery hoops with clever little sayings on them! :)
2. Describe a typical day for you.
My days always differ from one to another but each always starts off with a cup of tea and ends with embroidering, reading a bit and spending time with my family.
3. How did you get into embroidery? Have you always been creative?
My grandma used to needlepoint when I was younger and was always trying to get me to stitch alongside her. I got into it briefly but I guess that at 13 years old it wasn't my hobby of choice and I never finished the piece I started on. Then sometime last year my dear friend Amy suggested embroidery and sent me a few links to tutorials and I just fell in love! I love making something from nothing and I love to make pretty things that (I hope!) people will love!
Before I opened my embroidery shop I had a stationery shop that I absolutely adored!! It was so much fun to create cards as I love to send out snail mail to dear friends and I wanted to share my passion so that others could send cute cards to friends + family. Then I started embroidering and I fell in love with the art of it. That it when I made up my new shop and started stitching my days away!! I love trying new things and who knows where my life will lead me + what other hobbies await me down the road :)
4. How do you measure success?
I don't really measure success but if I had to I guess it would be by how happy I am at what I do. If I'm happy about each and every product I make than I would classify that as a great success to me!
5. What is your biggest creative/business achievement to date?I've had whole-sale orders, had my hoops sell in little boutiques, set up booths in craft fairs and had my hoops in goodie bags at conferences - but nothing is more heartwarming than repeat buyers who tell me how much they love my work and that they want something for themselves or to gift for a friend/family member! It makes my day!! :3
6. If you could go back in time would you do anything differently relating to your work/business?
I'm
not really one that would go back and change things. I believe that
every misstep is a learning lesson and a chance to grow as a person + as
a business seller.
7. How do you get yourself motivated when you're having a 'meh' day?
Reading favorite/new blogs, watching a film, taking a walk, or maybe something as simple as listening to great upbeat song!
8. What's your favourite item you've ever made?
I think it would have to be this
hoop. How I Met Your Mother is one of my very favorite shows and I
adore this quote so much! The second runner up would have to be this one as this is basically how I live my life! :)
9. What's your dream for your business?
To sell my hoops is more bricks and mortar shops!!

we like... the white pepper
I'm not sure if it's this weather, or if I'm just going through a bit of a girly phase, but right now I cannot stop online shopping for dresses! one of the websites I keep returning to, to ogle their incredible selection of dresses, is The White Pepper.I can't get enough of the simple fabrics, the pretty collars, and the gorgeous styling in all of the photos. here are just a few of the dresses that I keep adding to my shopping basket (and then removing again because I am so poor!)
that sailor dress - be still my heart! if anyone fancies buying one for my birthday, or just because you love me, I'd be eternally grateful! xoxo
