these shoes were made for walking....
first of all, I'd like to wish each and every one of you a very very Happy Valentine's Day, whether you are single or taken, whether you're celebrating or not. I'm having a wonderful day - due to being under the weather it's been spent indoors wrapped up warm. I baked raspberry cheesecake brownies this morning, and the boy-o is cooking me dinner which seems like a pretty good trade! we weren't supposed to be doing presents - I have had a super busy few weeks and hadn't had a chance to go and buy him anything. but Jonathan surprised me with a Minnie Mouse toy (yeah, I'm a child, I know!) and two tickets to see Beyonce! best present EVER! I've been trying to get tickets to see her for years, so I am SO excited to finally see Queen B live!
these shoes arrived in the post yesterday - I bought them off a super sweet lady on Instagram, and they are Rachel Antonoff for Bass. it was love at first sight when I saw them, and they are now my favourite item of clothing I own! and obviously perfect for Valentine's Day!
what have you all been up to today? I hope you are having a wonderful day/evening whatever you're doing, and that in some way, however big or small, someone has made you feel loved....

nice things for nice people
Renegade Craft Fair was one of the highlights of my year, not least because I got to see so many of my favourite crafty/online friends in person, some for the first time ever! I didn't want to miss such an awesome opportunity, so I made up little Christmas goodie bags for them all to hand out on the day.
I used some white paper bags I already had, and decorated each one with some velvet ribbon, a vintage flash card, and a jingly bell.
I wanted some vintage style Christmas cards - I made these using a digital printable I bought on Etsy, which features high quality scans of real vintage Christmas cards. I printed them off small as I thought they looked cutest this way! I popped each one in an envelope, with a kraft luggage tag on the front with their name spelt out in alphabet stickers from Paperchase.
I made up little sweetie bags for each goodie bag too - rainbow drops, fizzy sweets, and chupa chup lollipops, all packaged in a black and white polka dot paper bag, finished with a peg and a handstamped gift tag. each bag also contained a laser cut wooden magnet featuring a motivational quote.
I loved making these up and I felt like Santa when I handed them out! I'm so lucky to know so many creative, inspiring people - I wish we all lived closer together so we could hang out more!

Rob Ryan Rocks
I've loved Rob Ryan's work for a long time. I don't even remember when or how I discovered it, but as soon as I saw it I was drawn in by the beautiful words and the tiny details. A few weeks ago I bought two new screenprinted zines from the Rob Ryan Etsy shop - I only own a few items by Rob, even though I'd happily fill my house with them.
As with all Rob's work, the story within the piece is beautiful and inspiring and uplifting. I love the colours used in each zine too - very simple colour palettes but so fitting.
I also received this beautiful hand screenprinted fabric invite to Rob Ryan's newest exhibition (which is on in London right now) - I think I might try and get this framed, it's so incredible!
Rob even included a handwritten card in with my order - it's the little details that make all the difference. Sadly I didn't get to meet him at the book signing (work overload) but I will be visiting his exhibition at the Sims Reed Gallery next week hopefully. It will be my first time seeing his original work in person, so I'm really excited!

dinosaur planters
when I posted about my dinosaur planters over on instagram they were a massive hit. I purchased these cuties whilst in Texas, and somehow managed to smuggle them back in with the air plants they came with, and they now have pride of place in my bedroom. I'm not good with plants - my mum and Dad and sister both have major green fingers, but I think it skipped me! the plant in the triceratops looks a bit worse for wear in these photos, but I have thankfully nursed it back to health (by which I mean I've actually remembered to water it more than once a month, oops!)
I've seen numerous tutorials around the internet for making these dinosaur planters yourself, and I think I may have to attempt to make some myself for christmas gifts (and so I can have a whole army of dinosaur planters for myself, muahahahahahahaha.

flowers forever
it's no secret that I have a huge soft spot for pretty flowers. luckily for me my sister is a florist, and my mum is even more of a flower fiend than me, so our house (and garden) is always filled with beautiful flowers. sometimes they are big fancy bouquets, or expensive things like lilies, but my favourites are just little bunches of simple flowers like these, presented in glass bottles.
what are your favourite flowers? do you buy flowers regularly, or are they considered a luxury?

the little things
Writing blog posts late at night seems to be a bit of a recurring thing for me lately! It seems to be the only time I have to do it, but that's okay I guess. I've just got in from watching Los Campesinos! play at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, and my throat hurts from singing along so loudly. But before I head to bed I wanted to share a few photos of the little things in life that have been keeping me going. The last few weeks have been crazy busy, so I need all the help I can get!
What little things keep you going during stressful times? xo
these super cute hand knitted teddies I got from a charity shop in Malvern
finally getting all my accounts up to date (literally the best feeling ever!)
instax mini photos from fun times with one of my favourite people
this ridiculous poodle I found in a junk shop last week (it has two babies too!)
wearing socks that look like burgers (from Lazy Oaf of course)
the flowers coming out in our garden as a result of the gorgeous spring weather
blue skies for miles (everything feels so much better when the sky is blue)
changing the desktop background on my computer to this super cute photo of my pupster

meet my helper
Pretty much every spare minute I have at the moment is spent at my desk in my craft room. I don't see anyone (except family members now and again) for days on end, and the only thing keeping me sane is music and Gilmore Girls DVDs! Luckily I have my cutie pie pupster by my side most of the day - Jasper has decided he loves lying under my desk during the day as long as I put a blanket down for him to sleep on! He's the best little helper, and I couldn't resist snapping a few photos of him the other day.
