some exciting news.....

As you may have guessed from the title of this blog post, I have some news to share with you all! I read this quote a few weeks ago and I thought it summed up perfectly where I am right now. For years now I have been wanting to start my own business. Nothing fancy, just making handmade bits and pieces and selling them. For years I have been quietly crafting bits and pieces in what little free time I have, and all the time I was thinking about doing this as my job. And now I have taken the first big step towards that - I have quit one of my jobs! As many of you know I work several jobs, but leaving this one means I now have 4 days off a week to spend focusing on my own stuff, which is quite literally a dream come true! I have so many plans, and although I know I have to take it slowly, my mind has already raced ahead with plans to open a shop with my bestie Emma.

Right now though I am going to be spending the next few months working my socks off getting everything ready behind the scenes; getting my craft room set up (eek, can't wait to share pictures when it's all done!), testing product ideas, making, giving my blog a makeover, ready to officially launch my Etsy shop, and participate in some craft fairs, in 2012! I can't even put into words how much this means to me, and rest assured I will be blogging lots about it. I have tons of DIY posts planned, as well as my usual blog content. Thank you to everyone who reads and comments on this little blog - it means the world to me, honestly.
