the never-ending treasure hunt

There are few things I enjoy more than getting up early on a Saturday morning to go to a car boot sale and spend hours rummaging through other people's unwanted belongings. It's the thrill of the hunt that I love the most - you never know what you will find. A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I would like to do some sourcing for Ayoka, a charity shop boutique in Bethnal Green, and of course I jumped at the opportunity! It's the most fun, and it gives me a legitimate reason to go to car boot sales every weekend without filling up my poor parents' house! I thought I would start posting photos of some of my favourite things that I buy, as a way of keeping track of the amazing bits and bobs that I find... so here are my top finds from my very first sourcing trip!

orange plastic rabbit jelly mould

gold tone mini cocktail arrows

1970s Avon 'Wynken, Blynken and Nod' novelty soaps

 Kojak jigsaw puzzle

Jersey cow salt and pepper shaker set

 1960s yellow Salter weighing scales

novelty mustard yellow ceramic donkey with salt and pepper shakers

vintage 'Pick Up Monkeys' game in original tin
(I adore these vintage graphics!)

1970s fruit patterned drinking glasses (set of 6)

vintage rainbow striped drinking glasses (set of 4)

 Hornsea pottery mushroom patterned planter

All these items, and so much more, are available to buy right now from Ayoka on Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green! Get down there and tell them Zoe sent you! (oh wow, since writing this post the rabbit mould, cocktail arrows, Avon soaps, weighing scales, and fruit glasses have all sold!)
