A couple of years ago at Christmas my parents surprised me with my very own sewing machine! I was so full of ideas of what I was going to do/make with it, but life was so busy my poor sewing machine got packed away and forgotten about. But last year I finally got my own craft room space, and my sewing machine got its own desk where it resides permanently. So far I (ahem, my mum) have mainly been mending the huge stack of clothes that needed hemming/altering/generally repairing, but I'm definitely going to start learning how to make things with it, especially as I have a mountain of vintage fabrics calling out to be used!
Sorry for the ton of photos of an inanimate object - I'm just very, very happy to have a sewing machine of my own that I can actually use, and I hope that by posting about it on here I will be spurred on even more to learn to use it properly and eventually make some nice things with it. Does anyone else have a sewing machine - what do you mainly use it for? xoxo
I got a purple one for christmas but I still haven't taken it out yet.. fail. I'm looking forward to using it though!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I have such a love/hate relationship with my sewing machine! Though it has improved vastly since it got it's own desk (let's forget it currently shares with an epic pile of new jewellery supplies and packaging which I haven't had time to 'store' yet). The last thing I made was a sash for my best friend's hen do and that turned out great! The bag I tried to make for my boyfriend before that... not so much. There'll have to be a version 2.0 ;)
