Terrible Yellow Eyes

As a child I was completely in love with Maurice Sendak's 'Where the Wild Things Are.' As an adult, being more mature, more educated (ha!), I am even more in love with the story and the message behind it. Especially after watching Spike Jonze's film adaptation.

Quite a while ago I discovered Terrible Yellow Eyes, a website dedicated to showcasing art inspired by 'Where the Wild Things Are.' It makes me so happy seeing how many people love Sendak's book, and how each person interprets it differently through a variety of mediums. The pieces were done as a tribute to his legacy and his life. Below are just a few of my favourites.

(pretty sure the papercut below is my favourite)

Although the website stopped accepting submissions in January 2010, I'm glad it is still up so everyone can enjoy these awesome works, and hopefully be inspired too.
