up in the air

it's so easy to get stuck in routines isn't it? although there is so much to do and see and try in London, I seem to have a few things I like to do, places I like to go, cafes I like to sit in, pubs I like to drink in. when I start getting restless I know it's because I've gotten myself stuck in a rut of doing the same things in the same order, day after day. when that happens I need to do something different, even if it's only something small. like the other weekend - I went on the Emirates cable car over the Thames for the first time. it wasn't a big thing, it wasn't an expensive thing, but it was new, and it was fun (if a little scary!), and it made me excited about being in London, about being 26, and about all the possibilities of where my life is going.

what have you done lately to break out of the habit of daily routine? or what are you planning on doing to shake it up a bit? if nothing else I want this little blog post to encourage everyone who reads it to do something different this week. even if it's just going a different route to work, or trying something new for lunch. let's be adventurers.

  1. I didn't even realise that this existed! Well done for breaking routine though, I'm going to take a walk today at lunch I think... nothing too exciting but definitely a break from the norm :)

  2. Gosh you're absolutely right. London has so much to offer and yet I always stick to my 'usuals'. I live right near Greenwich too so there's no excuse. I need to get my mum on that cable car!
