brighton craftaganza part 1

Over the Jubilee bank holiday, whilst everyone else was lazing about watching the Queen on TV I spent two days in Brighton selling at the Brighton Craftaganza event. It was two super tiring days (I got up at 5:30am on the Monday morning and had pretty much no sleep until 10pm on the Tuesday night - that's a whole other story though!)  but I had such a brilliant time, and met some uber lovely and talented people to boot.

The fair was in the most gorgeous building - it was a church that had been converted into a space to be used for exhibitions and the like.

there were SO many fantastic stalls, I had to be really careful not to spend every penny I made! I did buy a few bits though which I will be sharing in a separate blog post...

seriously, how gorgeous is this building - those windows are ridiculous, I want them in my house!

I also thought I'd share a few peeks at what my stall looks like when I do craft fairs - I have way more products at craft fairs than I do in my Etsy shop, which is for various reasons, but I am working on adding new stuff to my online shop so everyone can buy them :) Here is a shot of the table... One of the hardest things I've found since starting Ladybird Likes is working out how to display things at craft fairs, without it looking boring or becoming too messy. I thought I might do a separate post on craft fair displays - what do you reckon?

I had to have one vaguely Jubilee themed item - so I popped some red, white, and blue vintage craft supplies into these Royal mugs. I still have a few left so they will be for sale on my stall at the Designer Makers market at Old Spitalfields.

my mini easel business card stand (I used to have them flat on the table but people never took them - I think they kind of got lost among all the cake stands!)

Well I hope you enjoyed that look at my stall - I really wish everyone could come to the fairs I do and that travelling wasn't an issue! We could sit and natter and eat cake and drink tea and look at all the pretty things for sale (and probably end up buying lots too!) If anyone knows of a particular good/interesting market or craft fair in their local area please do let me know - I'm always looking for new ones to try out, and don't mind travelling a bit :) xoxo

PS. sorry some of the photos above are a bit out of focus - it was a grey sky when I took the photos, so the building was quite dark, meaning I had to use a slow shutter speed. That, combined with the fact I have the shakiest hands in the world, meant the pictures weren't great. Note to self, always take your 50mm lens when you go away!
