does competition kill creativity?

a few months back I was interviewed for an article in Mollie Makes, and just today I received my copy of the issue with the article in. the article is title 'does competition kill creativity?' and it focuses on the way in which, most often through social media such as Instagram, we find ourselves constantly comparing what we are doing, or making, or wearing, with other people. rather than getting on with making things we want to make, we find ourselves looking at the craft project someone else just posted a photo of on Instagram, and getting disheartened and feeling inadequate.

it's a topic very relevant to me, and I have a much more in depth blog post on the subject scheduled for next week, so do look out for that. it seems to be one of those topics that lots of people can relate to, yet it's not considered the done thing to talk about openly.
