behind the scenes

I'm working on lots of exciting new things for Ladybird Likes right now, and I'm trying to remember to document more of what goes on behind the scenes. right now I've just finished designing a new range of unisex wooden bow ties - I'm waiting to get samples, and work on patterns and colour schemes for the first release, but I'm super excited about this! it's a bit different from what I've done before, but I hope it still fits in with the Ladybird Likes brand.

 there will be a permanent range of bow ties which are always available, as well as limited edition seasonal ranges. plus I'm hoping to expand the range to include ones for kids and for pets.

here are a few of the pics I was using as inspiration - the collection is aimed at vintage loving indie guys and girls, but we're adding a modern twist to it using wood instead of fabric, and using a mix of modern and classic patterns and colours.

 here are a very small selection of my notes - I tend to just grab some A4 paper and sit down and write down everything about the new range, from actual designs to things like how to package it, what sort of photos I want of the collection, where to get supplies from, where to target in terms of press and PR.

I hope this has been interesting for you - I LOVE seeing what goes on behind the scenes at other businesses because I am super nosey like that. what's everyone else working on right now? I'd love to see some peeks or hear about what process you go through when designing new stuff.
