Around Town

Me and my Diana Mini were inseparable over the summer but, unfortunately, it does not seem to like the grey winter months very much. Poor baby Di likes lots of sunshine, so since October she's been retired. But I still had a film to develop from the summer months, and here are some of the photos from it.

cranes by Southbank

fairy lights near the Thames

yellow flags and blue skies

deckchairs outside a bookshop

signage in Southend

nautical but nice

Chinatown red lanterns

nights out in East London

by the canal in Hoxton

I do miss my little friend, but am currently running a roll of black and white film through her to see what effects I get. Very excited to get it developed!

I don't really like posting videos on my blog because I don't really ever look at videos on other people's blogs. Not sure why, I think I just prefer reading words or looking at pictures. But when I saw this over on the oh comely blog I had to post it here too. My love for Rob Ryan knows no bounds.

I Heart ET

So yeah, I love the film ET. And then I saw this piece by Richard Fairhead and it made me laugh a little bit more than is normal. I had to blog it. And here we are at the most pointless blog post ever.

PS. Christmas makes me VERY nostalgic. Hence the whole ET thing.

Art Equals Happy

It feels like years ago since this happened, but was in fact only a few months ago. Oh how time flies! The oh so lovely Kim Smith, best known for her super inspiring blog Art Equals Happy, is someone I have admired from afar for the best part of a year. She's so creative, and her blog is part of the reason I got into blogging myself! When I found out she was taking part in a zine and art fair at Camberwell Arts College, which is part of UAL, my own university, I had to go down and visit her in person.

As expected she was the sweetest, and we chatted for a while and I bought some of her amazing goodies.

I love the stuff she makes. My lion brooch is currently a wall hanging, and I also bought one of the postcard quotes books for my friend Elle. We have become penpals and I posted her a package of goodies. You can see her beautiful photos of it in this blog post.

Go say hello to two of my lovely blogging friends, they are both so cute and very friendly. xxx

Instax Mini Part 2

I posted some photos taken with my Fujifilm Instax Mini camera a few weeks ago, and promised to post some more. Life got rather hectic (what's up with that?!) and I didn't get round to it, so here they are. Better late than never. Or something...

I am on my Christmas break from university right now, and though I should technically have more free time this doesn't seem to be the case. Projects in the works, friends to catch up with, family to spend quality time with, and so many exhibitions to visit. But I will be making time to get my blog up to date, in particular I have lots of work from my course to post :) xxx

Bog Roll Art

Yeah, you read that right. Art, made from bog standard (ha ha!) toilet rolls. There are so many reasons I love these. Firstly, they're made from toilet rolls. Gotta love (good) art that uses recycled materials. Secondly, they're miniature. Anything in miniature is amazing in my book. Thirdly, they are so detailed. The cut pieces are layered to create a whole little scene, inside a toilet roll.
